To call attention to this horrific reality and to help raise awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. When a child abuse tragedy is reported in the media, neighbors often say they thought something was wrong, yet too often no reports of known or suspected abuse were made to the police or local child protective services agency. On average, a child abuse report is made every 10 seconds– a total of approximately 3 million child abuse reports annually. The following tips can help prevent child abuse and keep your children from becoming a statistic:
-Never discipline your child when your anger is out of control.
-When your child tells you he/she doesn’t want to be with someone, listen to them and believe what they say.
